ACCESS ADVENTURE VOLUNTEER

Grayson Sorrels

Grayson is a retired fireman of thirty-six years, most recently working at the Ishi Conservation Camp in Payner Creek (Tehama County), as a fire crew captain for crews of State Prison inmates. Grayson loves the outdoors, camping, people, horses, traveling, Western history, etc. One of Grayson’s strong desires as a boy was to be "owned by a horse" – but it was not meant to be. After moving to Paradise in 1979, he was able to secure a couple of horses for his girls who competed in gymkhana and horse events and enjoyed camping and trail rides. Grayson has a heart for the disabled and thinks that camping and trail drives are the perfect combination for serving them. A second home in Chester prompted Grayson to seek out good areas in Plumas and Lassen Counties for the Humbug Hoedown. Thanks to those efforts Anywhere Wild! not only has several beautiful locations to choose from, but has established a number of contacts with youth groups and people with mobility challenges for the next trip to the Chester Area. Grayson enjoys being on the road and travels extensively to Christian singles retreats in California, Oregon, Washington and British Columbia.

Grayson stands by a wheel chair accessible carriage during Open House at Rush Ranch.
