ACCESS ADVENTURE VOLUNTEER

Monatte McGee

I was struggling following the death of my beloved mother in January 2009. My family and friends were worried about me. They suggested that getting involved with Access Adventure could be a path away from focusing on my loss by becoming involved with helping others.

Monatte and Michael Muir "But I Don’t Like To Get DIRTY! It’s a RANCH… I’m a PRINCESS… WHAT are you thinking?"

Well, against my own better judgment, I agreed to give it a shot. Meeting the magnificent newborn colt, Fandango was the clincher. I was hooked!

I’m still a princess, but in training to be the QUEEN of Manure Management. Meanwhile, I help Michael in the office (THAT’S a full-time job) and enjoy learning about new aspects of Access Adventure.

My favorite experience so far has been with the gals of the Bay Area Outreach Recreation Program. We have so much fun together, despite living with the challenges of disability. That’s what Access Adventure is all about!
