ACCESS ADVENTURE VOLUNTEER
Randie Boardman
I met Michael (A.K.A. M-Dawg) in the early part of ’06 through another volunteer, Cathy O’Shea, when she
asked me to go out to Rush Ranch. I then met Fanny, our sweet filly and it was love at first sight. When I attended the
Rush Ranch Open House I became a volunteer whole heartedly. I experienced what a wonderful program Access Adventure is.
The absolute joy it brings to me and the patrons who come to enjoy the beauty of nature by riding in the carriages is
incomparable.
Growing up in the Los Angeles area, I have always had a passion for horses, and always hoped I would get one!
Well, living in a tract home with a small yard that would not accommodate a horse meant I had to settle for a cat. I spent
the rest of my growing up years training with other people’s horses.
I now reside in Fairfield, CA with my amazing husband, Robert, my two sons Dallas, 14 and Chris, 11 (all three
are also volunteers) two dogs, cat, fish, and birds. I also raise and show American Singer Canaries in my spare time. Okay,
I admit it, I’m a pet freak. I have been a Realtor since 1991.
This is a good job to have since it gives me all the time I need to devote to Access Adventure and the ability to work with the horses
and participate in the many events that we do. I’m very excited to be a part of this growing program in its early stages to see it grow – like watching a child grow up.
